Professional Life

      Sten Thore was appointed Centennial Fellow of the University of Texas on the occasion of the centennial celebration of the University of Texas in 1983, and recognized as a Centennial Fellow Emeritus on his retirement, having served the university for 20 years. Moving to Lisbon, Portugal he was installed as a Luso-American professor in the Commercialization of Science and Technology at the Institute Superior Técnico, Lisbon, and eventually settled in the northern hills of the Algarve. Created Ph.D. Jubilarem by the University of Stockholm, Sweden, in 2012.

Ranking Nations by their Social and Economic performance.

      The early study B. Golany and S. Thore, «The competitiveness of nations» in IMPACT — Honoring George Kozmetsky's receipt of the National Medal of Technology, Greenwood, Westport 1997 was followed up by several papers by the same authors, and by S. Thore and R. Tarverdyan.
